Key outcomes
Bloomberg is a global leader in business and financial news, delivering live programming, breaking news, in-depth interviews and original documentary content to audiences worldwide.
Bloomberg TV provides round-the-clock access to markets coverage and analysis, while newer channels Quicktake and Bloomberg Originals extend the brand into short-form and long-form original storytelling. The service operates across connected TV platforms for a global audience.
Bloomberg had an established multi-device OTT presence, built in partnership with Accedo using earlier platform infrastructure. As that infrastructure evolved, Bloomberg needed to transition to a more capable, cloud-native platform that could simplify app management and reduce operational complexity across a growing number of devices and platforms.
At the same time, Bloomberg was expanding its streaming offering with the launch of two new channels, Quicktake and Bloomberg Originals. The transition to a new platform needed to accommodate that expansion, bringing the new channels into a unified experience without disrupting existing viewers or adding operational complexity.
Bloomberg partnered with Accedo One to transition its OTT infrastructure from legacy platform products to a fully cloud-native solution. The technology behind Accedo One now forms part of the Leyra OTT platform, which continues to support and evolve the Bloomberg service.
Bloomberg was able to:
Bloomberg modernised its OTT infrastructure and expanded its streaming presence to include two new channels, all managed through a single cloud-native platform.
The transition from legacy infrastructure to Accedo One gave Bloomberg’s teams a simpler and more consistent way to manage their apps globally, reducing the operational effort required to keep content and configurations up to date.
Bringing Quicktake and Bloomberg Originals into the same platform enabled Bloomberg to expand its content offering without adding technical complexity. Rather than treating new channels as separate projects, they could be integrated into the existing experience and managed centrally.
For a global news organisation where speed, accuracy and consistency are critical, that ability to simplify operations while expanding the service is a significant advantage. Today, the technology behind Accedo One forms part of Leyra, supporting the same need for flexible, scalable OTT management across global media services.
With full control over content, curation and analytics, the team can continuously evolve the service, delivering a dynamic, festival-style experience throughout the year.
